The Story Mint is a vibrant and inspirational community of writers who celebrate one another's successes.

Happy New Year

Here in New Zealand, Christmas is done and dusted and summer is well underway. At this time of the year we enjoy time on the beach or at the bach with friends and family with plenty of time for catching up on reading and writing. It is a time to recharge batteries for the year ahead and we hope that wherever you are, you are also ready to tackle 2019 with enthusiasm and energy.

Here's how to keep your membership of The Story Mint current (we know you want to!).

In 2018 we extended the services offered to our members. Now, you can accept full support from concept to publication.

If you are serious about your writing, we are too. And - just for now - membership is less than $5 a month!

Members have full access to Stylefit™, our unique self-directed writing coach. Other benefits include member-only rates to attend workshops and our symposium.

Your membership of The Story Mint also entitles you to special rates for professional editing, publishing advice, manuscript feedback, and representation to literary agents and publishers.

Happy New Year to you all.
We can't wait to see what magical writing you create this year.

Everyone Has a Story
Anthology Two

'Everyone Has a Story, Anthology Two', is an anthology of stories by authors from around the world. All are dedicated writers committed to creating stories for readers to enjoy. This collection gives readers lots of choice like Jasmine Groves' (NZ) gripping historical drama 'Josephine', Hemali Ajmera's (India) engaging YA 'Yours Truly' and Ken Burns' (NZ) hilarious   'd.a.d.s'.
There are many more stories to read...

How serials work
A writer proposes a story line by writing a  500 word preface. Subsequent writers pick up the story. The challenge is to add new twists while keeping the themes and characters consistent.

Our grateful thanks to our editing team: Flo Ginsburg (USA), Donna McTavish (NZ, and Suraya Dewing (NZ). And
Our grateful thanks also to our publishing team: Ray Stone (Cyprus), Leif Rennes (Scotland) and Anthony Smits (Samos Island)..

The Story Mint's vision is to create a path
Before you put that first word on the page take the time to understand your readers. Consider their interests and how to connect with them. Readers have millions of titles to choose from so why should they pick yours?

Give them a very good reason or better, several reasons. Make the cover unmissable, ensure the first paragraph grabs their attention and keep the story going using great description, strong characters and fast paced story line. Read this blog

The more readers you have the better
Before you put that first word on the page take the time to understand your readers. Consider their interests and how to connect with them. Publishers become interested in writers who have significant social media followers. To help with this we actively promote the chapters you write for serials to over 25,000 readers on Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin. The best achieve a strong readership.

However, in order to do this we need you to occasionally write 500 word chapters. The best serials are selected for our annual Anthology, Everyone Has a Story

We also find many other ways to promote your work.

For US$50 a year that is  significant value.
Subscribe  and add new chapters to your unimaginably exciting success story.

*Please Note: Free membership ends on 31 January 2019.

Despite the distractions of Christmas, and end of the year celebrations, some of our writer's managed to find time to contribute to a serial. Here is what's new:

Storm .... Suraya has written chapter 9
Waterfalls ... Anna has written chapter 1
Nestor, Lester and Esther .... Sameer has written chapter 8
It was a game .... Suraya has written chapter 7

Storm Chapter 9
by Suraya Dewing (NZ)
Waterfalls Chapter 1
by Anna Zhigareva (Scotland)
Nestor, Lester and Esther, Chapter 8
by Sameer Nagarajan (Dubai)
It was a game, Chapter 7
by Suraya Dewing (NZ)

A thought: If you write for yourself you are writing for an audience of one. If you write for readers you are writing for an audience of many!

Happy writing everyone!
